VPK Classes
Kindergarten is right around the corner, and research shows that having a strong foundation of knowledge and a growth mindset are essential to progress in education. At Early Academy, we purposefully build our curriculum to ensure students are not only kindergarten-ready but go far beyond this minimum requirement, to ensure that students have the ability to engage in a meaningful way with literary and mathematical concepts.
At Early Academy, our Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten (VPK) Program is designed to provide four-year-old children with a robust educational foundation, ensuring they are well-prepared for the academic and social demands of kindergarten and beyond.
Curriculum Overview
Our curriculum is purposefully structured to exceed standard kindergarten readiness benchmarks. We emphasize the development of both literacy and mathematical skills, enabling students to engage meaningfully with complex concepts. This approach fosters a growth mindset and instills a lifelong love for learning.
Key Components
Literacy Development
We immerse children in a language-rich environment, incorporating storytelling, phonics, and early writing activities. This exposure enhances vocabulary, comprehension, and communication skills, laying a solid foundation for reading and writing proficiency.
Mathematical Concepts
Through hands-on activities and interactive lessons, students explore basic mathematical principles such as counting, pattern recognition, and problem-solving. These experiences build critical thinking skills and numerical fluency.
Social and Emotional Growth
Our program emphasizes the importance of social interactions, guiding children in developing empathy, cooperation, and conflict-resolution skills. Group activities and collaborative projects foster a sense of community and belonging.
Physical Development
Recognizing the importance of physical activity, we incorporate daily exercises and outdoor play to enhance motor skills, coordination, and overall health. These activities also teach teamwork and perseverance.
Character and Civics Education
We instill core values such as respect, responsibility, and citizenship through age-appropriate discussions and role-playing scenarios. This component prepares students to be conscientious and active members of society.
Learning Environment
Our classrooms are designed to be engaging and supportive, featuring child-centered learning stations that encourage exploration and discovery. We maintain a low student-to-teacher ratio to ensure personalized attention and to cater to the individual needs of each child.
Parental Involvement
We believe that a strong partnership between parents and educators is crucial for a child’s success. Regular communication, progress reports, and opportunities for parental participation are integral parts of our program.
At Early Academy, our VPK Program is committed to nurturing well-rounded individuals equipped with the skills and mindset necessary for lifelong learning and success.
